“My Priorities for LD 10 – Seat 2”

 

First, the new ‘income tax’ isn’t just for the rich. It’s the foot in the door for a full state income tax that will eventually force every Washingtonian to file a return and pay more. We already have the most regressive tax system in the country — sales, property, and B&O taxes hit working families hardest. I will fight to repeal this tax before it expands and drives jobs and families out of our state.

 

Second, we must fix our crumbling infrastructure, starting with the ferry system. Our families and businesses depend on reliable transportation across the Sound. Aging vessels, endless cancellations, and delayed replacements are unacceptable. I’ll push for faster vessel replacement and smart local passenger ferry options so our communities aren’t left waiting at the dock.

 

Third, Washington must become affordable again — for us and for our kids and grandkids. Sky-high housing costs are pushing families out. I’ll work to cut the red tape that blocks new housing construction, expand practical options like accessory dwellings, and get government out of the way so the private market can build the homes we desperately need.
